Wooden Promise Rings

Quick history of a promise ring

The history of a Promise Ring can be traced back as early as the fifteen hundreds when, if someone desired engagement to his loved one but was constrained financially, he would promise to marry the person in question when his monetary situation improved. It was not unusual for a crude silver ring to be forged by a local craftsman and given as the placeholder with the intention to wed.

Today a promise ring still has the same pre-engagement connotations and the old fashioned etiquette of just the man offering a promise ring is no longer compulsory.

A promise ring can be worn on either hand or in fact any finger however those wishing to express that the ring is a symbol or intention to become engaged can wear it on their wedding finger.

A promise ring nowadays can represent commitment to each other and the strengthening of a romantic friendship without the marital intentions but it is important when giving to emphasize the significance of the ring.

Now, as back in the fifteen hundreds, a promise ring need not be expensive but can be made from anything - ceramics, stainless steel, even a piece of rope can suffice. However with the unrivaled development of our beautiful wooden rings we feel that any of our designs are more than adequate and suited to represent your promise.
